A Long Weekend Walk

It's been a long day today. Champ and I have always loved walking, and today we ventured out for a long walk with Ryland. It was a great time, and we even caught a bit of the sunset on the way home.

Twinkle Twinkle

Ryland has been busy busy busy lately. She has been talking up a storm, and playing "pretend" a lot. Champ and I found her playing with her little people toys the other night, and she was just talking away as if her toys were talking to each other. She has also been singing a bunch. She loves Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, however, she sings "Twinkle Star Diamond Sky".

She has also started saying " mama mama mama mama" over and over again when she wants something or wants me to do something for her. It's amazing how fast she is changing.

Ryland Playing

RP and Aviley

Last night Ryland had a wonderful time hanging out with our friend's Shannon and Christian. Shannon is pregnant and due right around Ryland's birthday, which we are extremely excited about. Ryland even seems to be excited. She kept talking to baby girl Aviley and kissing Shannon's belly. She even decorated it with stickers which was very entertaining. It's almost as if she understood that there was a baby in there. Pretty cool!

Weekend

This weekend was a blast for Ryland. First off, she got to go to Bob's Red Mill for breakfast. She got her one plate of food with buckwheat pancakes, scrambled eggs, and cheese grits. We are so lucky to have such a great eater. Later that day, we went over to Pop Pop and Sally's house where Ryland had fun stacking up blocks and naming dinosaur magnets on the fridge.

On a side note, Ryland has decided what the theme for her second birthday party will be. After attending her good friend Noah's party last weekend, Champ and I asked her what she wanted to have at her party. She responded with "rinas, ballerinas, ballet, utcracker". Apparently, I have a little ballerina on my hands.

As I said a couple nights ago, Ryland has this new thing called "hands". It's basically her wanting to play in the sink right before bedtime. She sits with her feet in some warm water, brushes her teeth, and flosses too! If Ryland could, she would sit there for hours. The only way to get her down is to offer her some baby lotion to put on her hands and feet. I think its a pretty healthy nighttime ritual. One that she will surely remember one day.

Ryland Talks Like a Pirate

Champ has been teaching Ryland the great skill of talking like a pirate. "Arrrgghh Matey" is now one of her favorite things to say, and it's pretty dang cute.

Trip to Olympia

Last weekend, Ryland, Champ and I took a drive up to Olympia for a much needed visit with Mimi and Pop. Ever since we left, Ryland has been talking about "mimi and pop....mimi and pop...". She had a blast in Olympia playing with the little Christmas town they had set up on their living room table, and loved taking rides on Mimi's walker. Ryland even got to wear a very special Santa necklace made my her grandma Janet years ago. She loved it so much she had to pose for the camera to show her excitement.

Say Cheese!

Ryland was especially cheesy today while trying on Champ's hats. After her little photo shoot with momma...she zonked out with her kitty by her side.

Dad and Ryland's nightly ritual

Ryland has recently become obsessed with washing her hands. Every night she gets Champ and requests him to meet her in the bathroom for what she calls "hands". Basically she wants to play in the sink, but Champ has turned it into the time where they brush their teeth, wash their hands, floss, and play in the water. I think it may be the best part of the day for both of them.
