Spending Time With Baby Aviley

Ryland really enjoyed seeing baby Aviley this weekend! She got to help give her a bath, help change her diaper, and even got to hold her. Last night Ryland brought me one of her baby dolls and said "this is baby Aviley, she needs her pacifier". So apparently she loves Aviley so much that she is naming dolls after her :)

So I came across a quote I liked and I thought I'd share...

Children make you want to start life over. ~Muhammad Ali

Such a true statement. I constantly look at Ryland and think to myself how fun it was to be little. She has such a good time all of the time. How amazing it is to be a child....:)

Ryland meets a barn owl...

Today we took Ryland to meet a whole lot of animals at my step mom's stepbrother's house. They have goats, quail, chickens, a llama, a falcon, a hawk, and two owls. Oh, and from time to time they have deer that roam in their yard. Ryland had such fun exploring outside, and stomping around in the grass. Meeting the barn owl, however, was probably the highlight of the day. So beautiful and amazing!

Now that I don't spend every waking hour with Ryland, I can see better how much she is really changing. She had a check up last week in which the Dr asked if she was making 2-3 word sentences. Ryland has far surpassed that! She is full of sentences. Yesterday I counted a sentence that was 8 words long. Most of her sentences are a question, and they usually end with the word Dada. Here are a few examples....

"What are you doing Dada?"
"Can you help me with this dada?"
Can you get me some water with ice dada?"
"dada, I wanna call mama"

...and the list goes on and on. :)

Free "Park"ing

Well summer is finally here, at least for a few days and Ryland is READY! She has been really enjoying her time at home with dad while mom goes to, as she calls it "mommas new job". Each morning she wants to discuss what exactly mom does at work. This morning she said that "momma helps people who fell down, and people who are angry" Well, this is mostly true! These pictures are from a trip to the park over the weekend, and even with all the beautiful weather, we were the only ones there while we were playing!! You can also see evidence of our cat Butah giving Ryland a little scratch on her arm, don't worry, they are always quick to make up!

Ryland's sayings

Ryland is so much fun lately. She is full of funny sayings and questions. Now that she has been staying home with dada, she is constantly calling me "dada". She is also getting quite the mind of her own. I will lean to give her a kiss, and she'll say "I don't want a kiss from you". But, I give her one anyway :)
