Almost 3!

Can you believe it? Ryland is almost 3 years old. Just 2 more weeks, and my once 8 pound 3 oz baby will be 3. It's amazing to think how much has happened in those short 3 years. Ryland has gone from a dependent little baby to a walking, talking, dancing little girl. It's hard to explain just how amazing she is, but to give you an idea, her birthday list is as follows:

Her very own party plans involve:
1. Playing pin the tail on the donkey
2. PiƱata
3. ladybug cupcakes
4. "I'm going to have camels at my birthday, and they are going to talk"

Present wish list:
1. Magical mirror
2. Disney princess costumes
3. Mickey, minnie, goofy, Donald, daisy toys

She obviously is a person of many interests :)

Music

Ryland spends much of her time listening to music, especially in the car. Champ and I no longer have control of the radio. The sweet little voice in the backseat is constantly requesting her favorite tunes. Just recently we got her a Disney Princess CD, and already she is working on learning the songs. Right now, her favorite is from Pocahontas, 'Just Around the Riverbend'. And last night when she was looking out the window, I asked her what she was looking at. Her answer: "mom, I am looking for a riverbend!".

When she is not busy listening to music, she is constantly requesting stories from Champ. They usually consist of The Cat in the Hat, Frosty the Snowman, and Berenstain bears all mixed in to one story.

On a side note...Happy Easter!

The Cat in the Hat

Ryland is full of stories these days...she just told me "when dada hooked his trailer up to his truck, he became a super guy!". I'm not even sure where all these funny sentences come from, but I certainly enjoy them.

Another thing that Ryland has been doing lately is requesting Champ and I to tell her stories. And to clarify, she wants them to be made up on the spot. She is constantly asking for a made up rhyming story about "the cat in the hat when he was sick". I'm not sure she understands how difficult it can be to tell a Dr. Suess-like story on the spot!

Fun times with RPC

Ryland is so busy these days that its hard to even figure out what to write about. She is a ball of fire who just wants to play, play, play! Tonight we ate dinner at Pop Pop and Sally's house. When desert time rolled around, my dad asked Ryland if she wanted some vanilla ice cream (her favorite). And surprisingly, Ryland's response was...

"but I'm playin'".

Apparently this little girl is now too busy having fun to eat her favorite treat!

(thank you again Pop Pop for giving Ryland that blinking heart. On the way home she said "why did they give me this surprise?")

Horsing around

Today was Ryland's first time on the carrousel at Jantzen Beach. I was so surprised she actually went on it because the last time she saw It she refused to go. I was very excited (since I am a ride lover) that she wanted to give it a go. I was a little worried at first because we have a sensitive little lady on our hands, and I had no idea how she would react. Luckily, she had a blast, and when the ride was over she said "now I'll ride with dada". So...she rode it a second time with Champ. And as the ride came to a stop Champ said Ryland told him, "and now I will ride it by myself".
