Hats off to Ryland!

Since the colder fall weather is approaching, Ryland has dug out her hats to show them all off (and to keep her head warm, of course). We have so many different hats that were given to us at our baby shower, and she has barely worn any because the weather has been so warm. She seems to like wearing hats...we think because she knows how adorable she looks in them :)

This is a hat she
borrowed from her friend
Liam. Very cute! The brand
is Flipside hats...made in
Portland, OR.

Ryland Paisley and her great grandma Nana

Last weekend was Ryland's great grandma's 91st birthday, so we spent some time eating lunch with her and the family. Ryland sat on Nana's lap for quite some time, and tried to steal her glasses at one point. That was the first time she had thought to herself "hmm, those shiny things on that person's face look like a fun toy!". I'm sure that is not the last time she will think that!

Loungin' around in halloween pj's

Ryland was practically sitting up by herself this morning. I was looking at her in amazement, thinking about just a few months ago when she would bobble her head around, and need so much support. Now, here she is seeming so grown up even though she's only 4 months old. I can't imagine another four months going by, so much is going to change!!

Ryland hanging with her friends!

Now that I am babysitting two other babies, along with Ryland, Ryland gets to spend a lot of time with her friends. We think this is a good thing for her so she can socialize a little with babies her age. Liam and Connelly are the other two here. They are just a little bit older than Ryland. It's so fun to watch them interact, grab, and stare at each other. They surely will be friends for a long time :)

Ryland's New Discovery

Ryland has discovered that she can use her hands for more than just bringing things to her mouth. She is getting really good at grabbing objects, and moving them around. The other day when I put her in a walker, she got so very excited, and started playing with all the toys attached. It was actually pretty funny. For some reason she has been grabbing toys, holding on to them, and moving them back and forth, over and over again. At times she looks confused about what she is doing, or as if she is flying some sort of plane, running the control panel.

On a side note, Ryland slept straight through the night last night. Yep, 8 hours of sleep without waking up to eat. We aren't getting our hopes up though!

mmmm, I'll have some sleeves with my dinner...

Ryland has become obsessed with putting anything and everything into her mouth. When she is wearing long sleeves, she ALWAYS sucks on them. It's getting really hard to dress her these days because she grabs on the sleeve as you put her arm through it, and tries to bring it to her mouth. She ends up soaking her clothes from all the drool she produces, and of course we think it's so cute :) Check out her sleeve on the second picture...it looks quite damp!
