On May 15, 2009 at 8:52 pm, Ryland Paisley Cook joined our family. Since that very moment, each day with her has been the best day of our lives. We have never loved anyone so much! Until...little Natalie Taylor Cook arrived on April 7, 2013 at 2:02am! Our daughters mean the world to us.

Playtime with Ryland
Ryland is a busy little girl these days, and she is just 3 days from being a one year old! She spends a lot of time right in our living room playing with all of her toys. Sometimes I look at the room, and wonder when and how all of these toys appeared. she has many favorite toys, but two in paticular. One is her little "Dora the Explorer" chair. She loves to lounge around in it, and also dig her face in it. The second toy is her toy stroller/walker. Yes, she likes to push it around, but her favorite thing about it is the two shortest songs in the world that it plays. She will press the button, and by the time she starts to dance, the song is over. It's very cute. I'm trying to post a video of her playing with these toys, but for some reason, it's not working. So until I figure it out, here's a little video of her chatting with daddy.

Chatty Girl
Ryland has a lot of new noises, and she has learned to put them together in her own little sentences. This video shows all of our favorites: "Butah butah" "Num num num" "lidel idlel idele" and Our favorite (especially Champ's) at the end "ahhh haaaaahhhaaa". The best part is when Ryland sees these videos of herself, she imitates her noises verbatim and talks back to the recording! It is so cute! We're sure its only a matter of time before some real words are coming out along with the funny Rylandisms.

Dancing machine
Ryland has become quite the little mover! She hears music on tv shows, commercials, in the grocery store, and in the car. She hears things that we as adults don't even notice. We are so used to the music being in the store that we don't even pay much attention, but Ryland, she picks it out quickly, and starts dancing as soon as you can say the word "dance". Her dance moves, if I may say so myself, are becoming quite advanced! It all started with a head nod, then a shoulder move, to a swing of the hips, and now a swaying of the arms. This little girl has got it all! It's so fun to see how much happiness music brings to her already.
