Bluegrass Baby

This morning I discovered that there was going to be a bluegrass concert at noon, at a local park. So, instead of staying inside all day, Ryland and I packed up a few snacks, and went to the concert. Ryland absolutely loves music, so I thought she would enjoy it there.

We had a great time! Ryland spent a lot of the her time walking around, searching for pine cones and such. She danced a little, and clapped whenever everyone else was clapping. I'm pretty sure she had a great time exploring the park, and following people's dogs around.

One thing I can't wait for is when Ryland is old enough to stand up at the front of the stage and dance around with the other young children. That will surely be one of the cutest things I have ever seen!

Ice Cream

Tonight, we took Ryland downtown Vancouver to walk around, and play in the park. It was pretty warm so we decided to take a short walk to Ice Cream Renissance to get some ice cream for ourselves. Ryland has never really had ice cream before, and boy did she like it :)

Champ had some coconut flavored ice cream, that he gladly shared with Ryland on the walk to our car. Things got pretty messy!

Dad and Daughter

As we all know, Champ is completely head over heels for Ryland, and Ryland just loves her daddy. Everyday when Champ gets home from work, Ryland hurries to the front door to greet him with a large smile. She instantly wants him to pick her up, and give him some hugs and kisses...This just melts daddy's heart. He loves her so much!

The other night, Champ and I went out to eat at a place called The Vita Cafe. Champ sat next to Ryland, who sat in a high chair and attempted to steal food off of Champ's plate. This is a common thing for Ryland to do, but that night she used some different tactics. Rather than using her fingers, Ryland grabbed Champ's spoon, and started using it to scoop up the mashed potatoes. She then proceeded to eat off the spoon, and cover her face with food. We, of course, we very excited for her! Champ was so happy, he whipped out his phone and took a few pictures of the big event :)

One more little story....
Last night, we went to the mall, and of course, Ryland always wants to get down and walk when we go there. So Champ is usually the one walking around with her while I look for what I need. When Champ set Ryland down last night, she kept reaching her arm up to hold his hand. She wanted to walk alongside daddy, hand in hand. It was incredibly cute, and made Champ so very happy. What a special girl we have.

Summer Days

Ryland has been such a great summer buddy to hang out with while Champ is as work. We spend our days playing in kitchen cabinets, exploring the house, and finding bags and such to carry around...

Life is so simple, and yet so busy with Ryland around. She finds joy in the smallest of things. Like this morning all she wanted to do was play in the dishwasher, which seems so miraculous to her!

I had a little fun this morning also. The picture of her in the blue swimsuit. Well, that was mine when I was her age! It fits her perfect, and she sure does look cute.

3rd Anniversary!

This past week, Champ and I had our 3rd wedding anniversary. So, of course, we had to make our trip down to the Marshall House (where we got married), and snap a few photos of our lovely family. It was a lot of fun bringing Ryland this time because she was walking all around the lawn, and having a lot of fun! We even got to take her inside the house for a few minutes, and she instantly wanted to crawl up the stairs. Things have changed so much since last year. She was just a little bitty infant, and now she is taking the world by storm. We keep saying, "just think of how different she will be next year on our anniversary!"...and we know, it will come way too fast. Champ always says that Ryland's happiness reflects the love we give her, and the love we have for eachother, and I'd have to agree.

As a reminder, this was last year...

It Just Keeps Getting Better

...and she just keeps getting cuter. Now that the weather is getting hot, Ryland and I have been spending more time at the park. Champ has been spending a lot of long hour days at work, and Ryland and I don't like being stuck in the house all day. Thankfully, we have a park right across the street that has a lot of grass for Ryland to walk around in. She is not so much a fan of wearing shoes, so the grass works the best for her. As you can tell, I have been snapping a lot of photos. In her almost 14 months of life she sure has learned how to ham it up for the camera!
