It's been a while since writing. Life has been busy and so has Ryland. We are enjoying the last few days of summer with pool time, family visits and movie nights. We just recently bought Disney's Cinderella (which Ryland had never seen). After watching it once she had already picked up on the songs and has been singing them around the house ever since. If you didn't know already, Ryland LOVES music. Reminds me of myself :)

Check up

Sometimes I look at Ryland and wonder how one girl can have so much fun. She is just a continuous ball of energy that loves to play, laugh, sing and dance.

This past week she had her three year check up and did amazing. Before we got to the clinic she asked Champ and I "do you think they're going to take my blood pressure?"...and sure enough they did! She sat quietly and was very interested in what the pediatrician was doing. It was if she was taking notes on how to do the "perfect check up" for her stuffed animals at home. I'm so proud of my big little girl :)

Funny Pete

This little story has nothing to do with the pictures below, but I had to tell it. Tonight Ryland, Champ and I were watching old videos of Ryland from when she was a little baby. I think it is the first time we've watched them with her that she actually really understood that that cute chubby baby is Miss Ryland Paisley herself. So the first thing she says is "haha, is that me? I look like a boy!" and then she said, with a very confused look on her face, "mom, I don't think I tell if I am a boy or a girl..." I reassured her that she was a girl even when she was a tiny baby. I'm not sure she believed me...

Beach Wedding

This past weekend was fabulous! Ryland, Champ and I stayed at Seaside for 3 whole nights.  Champ's brother Guy was getting married to one of Ryland's favorite people (her Aunt Nikkie), and what a beautiful wedding it was.  Ryland, once again, was a flower girl.  She's practically professional now. She threw the petals perfectly down the sandy aisle, and was darling as she did it.  The beach was sunny and the sand was warm, which made for a gorgeous ceremony.  Ryland sat in the sand quietly, burying her feet as the bride and groom said "I do". I think this is the first time, she has actually sat through a whole wedding ceremony.  Which was nice for me, because I really wanted to watch this one.    The rest of the weekend involed lots of beach and family time.  We stayed in a lovely house just 2 blocks away from the ocean with all of Champ's family.  It was a beautiful little vacation away from home.

Splish Splash

Summer has officially started and the weather is finally nice. In the past week Ryland has spent most of her time in the backyard playing in her new pool and running through the sprinkler. At first she wasn't so sure about the cold water and didn't really care for being splashed. She is now past those fears and on to pouring cups of cold water over her head.
Watching her play in the pool reminds me of being little. I can remember spending hours playing in the water. There is so much to learn about and explore when you are little. Life is all about that very moment. Spending all my time with a 3 year old helps me to live a little more like that each day.

Wedding!

This past weekend Ryland and I got to share a very big day with my cousin Tayler.  Her wedding day.  Tayler is actually my cousin's daughter, making her my 1st cousin once removed (very confusing).  I've known her since she was in her momma's belly, and I've always been obsessed with my adorable red headed cousin.  So to be able to be a part of her wedding day was amazing (I was the flower girl in her mom's wedding 20 plus years ago).

Ryland and I both were in the wedding.  She as a flower girl, and myself as a bridesmaid.  We really enjoyed getting all dressed up.  Ryland even allowed someone to do her hair, which can sometimes be really difficult at home.   The whole day was straight out of a fairytale.  Ryland danced the night away, and even stayed awake for the sparklers at the end of the night.

So far that is two weddings for Ryland...and in just a few weeks we have one more!
